CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE – PART TWO: THE BEAUTY BAY UP TO 50% OFF SALE 25th – 31st (BLOGTOBER – DAY TWENTY-FIVE)
Hands up if you want another gift guide?! I’m actually (so far) surprisingly organised this year (long may it continue!) but if you’d have asked me last October if I was even thinking about Christmas shopping I’d have laughed. Probably also cried. Anyway I digress… Beauty Bay have a HUGE sale on right now and it’s the perfect chance to pick up something special for your loved ones. I’ve collected some of my favourite bits to show you guys but honestly, head over and check it out yourself HERE. It’s immense!
As an oily gal (have I mentioned that before?) you’ll know I’ve always struggled with balance between giving my skin what it needs and over saturating the bloody thing. As ever its a work in progress but if you want to read all about how I added some much need hydration to my skincare routine in seven days then stick around kids!
I’m (mostly) about beauty on a budget. Adulting is expensive and I don’t have the cash to splash about on pricey brands so much anymore and I know that’s a common theme really. Do you know what really makes my day though? Finding drugstore priced products that deserve to be praised just as much as their luxury counterparts. Below I’ve put together a little list of my everyday favs, let me know if you’ve tried any!
Meet the Arttitude Cosmetics By Ruks Glow Getter Oil! Designed to target a number of skin concerns including acne, blemishes, pigmentation, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles it’ll fit in beautifully alongside your current skincare routine.
BLOGTOBER X BLOGR CHALLENGE 2021 WEEK 3 – THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN BUSINESS (BLOGTOBER – DAY TWENTY-ONE)
Social media is absolutely vital for any business in this day and age. There are currently nearly 45 million Facebook users in the UK whilst over 30 million people use Instagram. These two platforms are a hive of activity and potential custom and that’s without taking into consideration the 15 million people who spend hours a day on Twitter and the ever growing popularity of TikTok (which is without a doubt one of the biggest social media success stories to date and allows the most chance of going viral from a single piece of content).
Skincare is absolutely vital to me for two reasons. The first being that as a beauty blogger I feel like having a good skincare regime really is the basis of an amazing makeup application. You can achieve incredible results with very affordable cosmetics when your skin is at its best and that comes down to knowing your skin, what to use and how to use it.
Where are my future brides at? I came across The Bridal Beauty Co via Spectrum Collections and I’m so glad I did. They put together the most beautiful collections of goodies and I’m utterly obsessed.
Last week I featured the I Heart Revolution x Disney Princess Snow White Collection and what a love fest that was! I actually purchased the Belle Collection last year when it was first released but this blog didn’t exist then so here we are.
If you’re anything like me then you find the idea of Christmas shopping with the masses all kinds of anxiety inducing. I thought now would be a great time to put together some blog posts designed to showcase what I think would make really great presents that take the stress out of gift giving! First up is the Beauty Bay ‘The Showtime’ Beauty Box…
Please don’t tell me I own too many haircare products. I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. Have you tried ‘The Haircare Bundle’ by Give Me Cosmetics? ‘The Haircare Bundle’ includes… An amazing Coconut & Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner duo (that come in their brand new easy squeeze bottles for maximum efficiency) to give you that extra oomph during these dastardly colder months.
If you follow me over on Instagram (HERE) then you’ll know I’m a bit of a palette hoarder… I’ve rounded up my fav autumn/winter feels palette so if you’re struggling to narrow down your shopping basket this might give you a nudge in the right direction!
Dear Kelly of 2022, This year you have so many amazing things in store and I can’t wait to see how it all pans out. I hope you’re as excited as I am! 2020 – 2021 was a time of reflection for us both and at times I honestly didn’t know if that was a good thing but at this moment in time I’m truly sure it was.
Have you tried the Revolution Haircare Bond Plex range? Formulated to target different layers of the hair fibre which will help restore and strengthen damage from the inside out. The range includes…
WHAT’S THIS? THE MAKEUP REVOLUTION X DISNEY NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION REVIEW (BLOGTOBER – DAY TWELVE)
If you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas (and of course you are, who isn’t?) then you’ll know the time old debate surrounding the seasonal target of the film. Was it made for Halloween or Christmas? Well director Henry Selick confirmed back in 2017 that it was intended to be a Halloween movie whilst Danny Elfman who beautifully set the tone of the film with his music said that whilst it’s clearly about Christmas he always considered it to be a Halloween film. I’ll just carry on watching it from October until December every year just to be sure. That seems like the sensible thing to do, right?
As a self confessed oily gal I’ve always made it my life’s mission to collect as many matte products as possible. Gimme all of the powders I say. The problem with that was it became increasingly difficult to move with the times and when dewy bases and ‘no makeup’ makeup because the next big thing I couldn’t keep up. Life isn’t all about chasing trends but as a blogger it’s essential that I at least try them. Some I grow to love and others, well let’s just leave those to one side shall we?
I really am still stunned by just how incredible this product is. For someone with brows that continue to piss me right off on a daily basis please take it from me when I say you need this! The Unicorn Cosmetics Bear Brows Extreme Lifting Balm…
Once upon a time there was a little girl with hair black as ebony, skin white as snow and a serious aversion to most fake tans. She was also incapable of ever growing up and cherished the memories of the many Disney VHS tapes her mother bought her at car boot sales. Among her favourites was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Snow White was kind and beautiful. She allowed the girl to feel comfortable in her own skin by showing her that not all princesses looked the same and even she could be considered beautiful. …and so, decades later a collection was released and the girl rejoiced.
Did you know I’m actually a hair stylist by trade? I haven’t worked in the industry for a very long time but a piece heart will always belong to it. I’ve spoken before about the power of the right cut and finding the correct person to help you achieve it (shout out to my stylist Sian at Sian Hair & Beauty because she is the best in the biz!). Part of my journey has always been finding products that work for me (and that changes depending on the season just like your skincare!). I’ve been trialling the Salicylic Acid Clarifying Range by Revolution Haircare and it seems to be working wonders on my super oily hair and scalp! It genuinely feels like a treat to use and so much more luxurious than it’s price tag would lead you to believe.
BLOGTOBER X BLOGR CHALLENGE 2021 WEEK 1 – KELLY’S ADVICE ON TACKLING ONLINE HATE (BLOGTOBER – DAY SEVEN)
Hello my lovelies! I’ve never tackled a blog post like this before so please bear with me, it may all come tumbling out and make absolutely no sense! I’ll admit I’ve been very lucky and up until last week had never experienced any kind of online hate or trolling. I remained blissfully ignorant as to how much your confidence can be obliterated in no time at all with a handful of comments from strangers.
The Pixi Pretties are back again and absolutely stealing the show with a quad of palettes to cover all bases.
There is nothing better than finishing off a makeup look with your favourite dramatic lipstick. It can instantly elevate your mood and is my absolute favourite confidence booster. I understand that it can seem really intimidating, especially if you consider yourself a makeup novice but I promise you that once you’ve perfected the art of a statement lip, you’ll never look back!
If ever there was a time I needed a pick me up it’s now! I’ve just started university as a mature student and my head is absolutely fried! Pair that with tackling my children’s never ending school commitments/general life and that’s pretty much just a recipe for stressed out skin. Thankfully Pixi Beauty we’re kind enough to send me over their Remedy Mask Collection so fingers crossed I’ll be back to myself in no time!
Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean you have to leave that coveted glow behind. The Core Cosmetics Collection is a must have if you’re after that glowing goddess lit from within kind of vibe (and who bloody isn’t!).
Post contains gifted products. All views are my own. I will admit to never having been anything but a powder blush kinda gal my whole life but when these beauts landed at my door I feel like a door was opened that I can not and will not ever close.
The right lipstick can completely change not only your appearance but your whole mood. You can find a shade for every skin tone, occasion and season but with that you’re going to need the perfect lipliner (and application!) because without the finishing touches life is just a bit bland, isn’t it? Here are my top 5 tips for how to get your liner to work for you with minimal effort (because I’m an enthusiast, not an MUA and I like life to be nice and simple)!
I will admit that I am absolutely awful when it comes to investing in fast fashion. I feel like my style is still changing and evolving (although I’m much more sure of myself now than I was a couple of years ago) so I often find myself buying things I might like at the time but probably wouldn’t wear six months later.
With Valentines Day long gone you might think it strange of me to want to discuss a release that was had just that in mind…BUT, restrictions are fast easing and now a date night really might be in sight so it’s the perfect time to get into the mood to glam up, right? …and guys, I have the answer!
“It’s time for some serious TLC with the Revolution Rehab collection. This collection is designed to nourish & recover your brows, lips & lashes.” Let’s face it, we could all do with a little bit of extra goodness in our lives right now couldn’t we?
After a pretty rubbish week where I once again wallowed in self doubt and debated whether I should actually be doing this at all I was givena kick up the arse when this little bundle of goodness arrived at my door!
