My name is Char and I am London-based travel blogger specialising in affordable luxury, solo travel and a sprinkle of beauty. Essentially this is my little space on the internet I’ve used to document my travel, my memoirs and my musings, hence the name – Memoirs and Musings.
If you are looking to spend some time with yourself in the near future, here are seven solo date ideas:
I am back to discuss travel (again). At present, international is still illegal from the United Kingdom unless it is for essential purposes. With the government set to discuss the next steps for international travel in the coming weeks, it doesn’t mean things are all doom and gloom, we can get excited again. Change is in the air and whilst you may not want a complete overhaul, why not have a refresh? This can be applied to anything from your bedroom, to your wardrobe. I haven’t posted on my blog since 3rd May 2020 and whilst that may not seem like a long time, I used to pride myself on consistency. I’ve always treated my blog as my ‘baby’ and whilst I haven’t felt like I’ve neglected it, the truth is that I needed a break. I haven’t felt creative or inspired for the longest and as I sit here on a Sunday afternoon writing this post, I still feel the same. But I have a commitment to myself to be consistent, and this post may seem a little lacklustre but honesty is key, right?
If you’ve never heard of Dermoi before, they do just that, they bring the skin clinic to your London adobe. Pre-Covid, I never had a need to have salon treatments done at home, I always thought they were for celebrities, busy mums or those who worked ‘unusual’ hours. Now after being at home for over a year, working where I live and living where I work, it only feels right that I bring my beauty treatments home too. Not only that, it’s convenient and works to my schedule.
Travelling right now is complicated, expensive and a headache BUT I personally think it’s worth the stress. Because I “suffer”* enough in the UK, I would like to suffer in consistent weather and cocktails for a few days. 😊
