My name is Rosalie, and I’m just a classical girl trying to navigate my way through the 21st century through music, culture and femininity. I can safely say that I am a little clueless about life, but that will NOT stop me from having a wonderful time and spreading good things along my way. My blog is a safe space to relax and discuss fun things! If you are a lover of femininity, music, theatre, books, films, vintage culture and everything in between, then it would be lovely to have you here! Or, if you just want a nice place to come when you feel overwhelmed, this is the perfect place to get some escapism. Let’s support each other and have a good time!
I love musicals, and I wanted to rank my top 10 to share any that you have maybe been considering going to, or maybe are new to the musicals scene and want to hear a few recommendations! There is a wide variety of musicals on this list, so there is something for everyone!
If any film could epitomise a ‘hard pill to swallow’, it would be Emerald Fennell’s Oscar-winning ‘Promising Young Woman’. I really enjoyed the film’s review by Claire Jenns, where it was suggested that “by nature of its content some people will dismiss it or avoid it like the plague. It forces the viewer to reflect on how they are complicit and question what more they can do”. In other words, this film compels the audience to address their own prejudices as to whether they can swallow this pill or not.

We all love a bit of escapism in the form of a trashy, guilty-pleasure TV show, accompanied by some junk food, and followed the next day by talking about it with your friends. As I gain more life experience, I can watch these with a sense of distance, understanding how ‘out there’ the entire concept of these shows are. However, when I watched these shows at about 15 years old, I remember trying to remind myself that the actors were all airbrushed and on a professional diet and workout plan, but in reality, I felt pretty inferior in comparison.
Sometimes when I need a little pick-me-up, I turn to a film that I know helps me tap into my femininity and makes me feel cosy and happy! If you need something like that, then I highly recommend these picks!
