Hi everybody, I’m Dede Stewart!! I’m a 19 yr old blogger from NJ currently living in Seattle. It’s such an honor to be a part of this community, and I can’t wait for us to get to know each other more. I’m so excited for me to start putting my blogs out there, because I’m passionate about creating a space for people like me: black women. My page is a safe space for everyone who’s ever felt excluded or felt like they’re not enough, I’m here to tell you that YOU ARE ENOUGH! I hope you all enjoy my blogs and can’t wait to meet you all 🥰
I wrote this post out of a lot of anger and exhaustion tbh. I was tired of people mistreating black women, I was tired of hearing colorist remarks being hurled at darkskin women and people laughing. I was tired of black women being humiliated and dehumanized and the society doing nothing. I was tired of us not being protected or heard. I was just... TIRED. I still am, but writing this post helped me do my part to make sure I'm listening to black women and holding them up. I want to make sure our voices are heard. I hope you enjoy
This post is very close to my heart because it is about sensitivity. Alot of black girls are not encouraged to show emotion or even just cry because they feel like they have to be stong all the time. For a long time, I used to be scared to show my emotions because I believed that I would be called weak. When I learned that I was an HSP or an highly-sensitive person, it brought me so much relief because I was able to just feel my emotions without judging myself for crying. For all my sensitive black girls, I see you. For all my black girls who feel like they have to put up a tough front, let your guard down and start feeling all your emotions. Hope you all enjoy!
